Trigger point injections are used to alleviate pain. The injection contains a local anesthetic and may include a corticosteroid. Trigger point injections can be used to treat a number of conditions including but not limited to Fibromyalgia, tension headaches, and myofascial pain syndrome.

The medical director Kenneth W. Backstrand is a board-certified anesthesiologist that has been practicing in Lee County for over 30 years. The medical group has been in business for over 10 years and has been very successful in providing compassionate pain management care all over the state of Florida.
Dr. Kenneth W. Backstrand is a board certified and re-certified anesthesiologist who has been in private practice for over 30 years. Dr. Backstrand attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and trained in and practiced pain management as well as anesthesiology.
He completed an anesthesiology residency at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago and is also proficient in ultrasound, fluoroscopy and nerve stimulation, which enables him to treat patients with advanced pain management.
